Project Manager- Strategic Accounts- Phoenix Area- Local to Phoenix area only

 

The Project Manager will work collaboratively with the respective HazTek Sales Leader and client stakeholders to ensure coordination of effort, resources, and project execution. The PM is responsible for managing all assigned Project Safety Advisors (PSA), work product, and overall program execution. The PM provides problem-solving and technical support for the PSAs that are assigned to client locations. The PM drives performance and results through a common set of expectations and receives support through collaboration with human resources, operations, resourcing, logistics, consulting, and finance.

Position Responsibilities

 

Program and Delivery Oversight

· Own and manage the end-to-end delivery of PSA services.

· Ensure adherence to:

  • Strategic client standards, policies, practices and expectations
  • Review activity levels and provide quality assurance.
  • Identify, communicate, and reinforce changes in expectations and scope of work

 

 

Project Planning/Sourcing/Scheduling

· Work with HazTek Sales Leader, Logistics, Recruiting, and other stakeholders to identify new PSAs to build the project team.

· Identify quality talent by interviewing candidates to evaluate their technical safety knowledge, competencies, soft skills, leadership abilities and fit for strategic client.

· Coordinate resource hiring activities:

  • Profile generation
  • Client interview
  • Employment offer
  • Start date confirmation (client and resource)
  • Onboard and check-ins
  • Update internal and external stakeholders on candidate and client status.

 

 

Project Management

· Ensures delivery excellence for all strategic client projects, including quality and timeliness of deliverables & reporting.

· Communicate regularly and consistently with key stakeholders and client/project representatives to ensure service satisfaction and proactively identify concerns before they become issues.

· Build and foster multilevel relationships with client stakeholders.

· Address employee performance concerns proactively, consult with appropriate stakeholders for assistance, and support QTS with planned and unplanned Client Directed Removals (CDRs) and HazTek Directed Removals (HDRs).

· Work with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition of personnel at the project level, which may include cross-training, CDR/HDR coverage, and filling routine voids (Paid Time Off, project start) in coverage when necessary.

· Conduct root cause analysis and problem solving.

· Identification and management of scope of work.

· Manage & mitigate conflicts and disputes.

· Assist with employee timesheet submissions and approvals.

· Assist with PO management, requests for change orders, and the movement of resources.

 

 

People Management

· Manage a group of approximately 30-50 PSAs that are remotely located.

· Manage a team of 3-4 regional Client Supervisors.

  • Client Supervisors will have PSA responsibilities including day-to-day supervision of a small team of HazTek colleagues.

· Mitigate employee issues.

· Meet regularly with employees, either in person or via MS Teams.

· Be readily available for phone calls and consultations.

· Create a work culture that fosters trust, fairness, consistency, and sharing ideas by modeling the HazTek’s Core Values, communicating clear expectations, and taking advantage of every touchpoint.

· Forecast future hiring needs.

· Communicate and coordinate hiring needs with Logistics, Operations, Recruiting, and other key stakeholders.

· Identify quality talent by interviewing candidates, to evaluate their technical safety knowledge, competencies, soft skills, leadership abilities and fit for strategic client.

· Ensure candidate profiles are created and clearly meet strategic client expectations.

· Present profiles and candidates to strategic client in a timely manner.

· Present verbal offers to candidates, negotiate salaries and other terms of employment, and establish new employees’ start dates.

· Reward and recognize employees for their contributions.

· Ensure employees are prepared to meet the demands of the strategic client’s PSA role.

· Provide employees with career development and learning opportunities.

· Conduct employee performance reviews.

· Create and implement Performance Improvement Plans.

· Implement disciplinary actions.

· Career coaching and planning.

· Evaluate communication skills (verbal, visual, written (email, text, reporting), identify strengths and weaknesses and coach for improved performance.

 

 

Miscellaneous

· Complete time reporting weekly to include appropriate allocation – project billable, business development, admin, PTO, etc. and expense reporting monthly following approved procedures and using available technologies.

· Serve as a company ambassador and champion of change.

· Respond to emergency situations with speed and efficiency.

· Attend scheduled and ad hoc meetings with HazTek stakeholders for candidate pipeline review, operations, project review, etc.

· Ensure employees are properly completing their client timesheets, Deltek time entries, UKG PTO requests and expense reports.

 

Project Site Visits

· Visit project sites regularly and on an as needed basis.

 

Meetings

· Participate in strategic client Monthly Safety Meeting

· Participate in Cost-to-Coast HazTek Discussion meeting, every 3 weeks.

· Participate in Monthly Safety Sync Meeting

 

Additional PM, SA Responsibilities and / or Billable Services Provided Upon Request

· Regularly scheduled site visits

· Gap Assessments.

· Incident Investigations.

· Onsite Training.

· Hazard Risk Assessments.

· Compliance Audits.

· Contractor safety performance or program evaluations.

· Cultural Assessments.

· Weekly or monthly reporting.

 

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma, or equivalent.

· Five (5) years of experience in a role that managed 10 or more individuals.

· Three (3) years of experience in a project management or operations management role

· Three (3) years of experience in managing the full employee employment life cycle.

· OSHA 30 Hour Construction or General Industry.

· Construction industry experience.

· Experience with using CRM technologies to manage the customer and project relationship.

· Experience managing a decentralized, field-based team.

· Experience in a process-driven environment.

· Valid drivers’ license.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field, or a discipline related to environmental, health and safety or equivalent experience in a sale/business development role and/or delivering health and safety services.

· Experience with Salesforce CRM.

· Experience with HSE management systems, auditing, and safety culture-building, market trends, best practices, and innovations.

· Experience is a specific construction discipline (e.g., data center, refinery, marine, pharmaceutical, environment, remediation, electrical, bridge, highway, steel erection, excavating, dredging, etc.).

· Industry certification (e.g., CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, STSC, STS).

TRAVEL & OTHER

· Travel throughout the United States, as needed.

· Overnight travel, less than 10%.

· Early mornings, long days, nights, and weekends are all required as workload, deadlines and assignments dictate.
