Responsibilities

The Safety Manager in Deerfield, IL supports specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and enhance a culture of safety.

  • Oversee all aspects of a large-scale pharmaceutical construction project ensuring OSHA compliance

  • Conduct daily site audits, inspections, and heavy equipment checks

  • Provide site orientations, routine training, and weekly toolbox talks

  • Ensure proper use of PPE, tools, and safe work practices across trades

  • Prepare and maintain OSHA recordkeeping, job hazard analyses, and safe work permits

  • Lead accident investigations and complete detailed incident reports

  • Manage subcontractor safety representatives and coordinate with project/client management teams

  • Support site safety culture through clear communication, coaching, and engagement with both field workers and leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 10+ years of construction safety experience, with strong preference for pharmaceutical or highly regulated environments

  • Certification in safety required (CHST, CSP, CHMM, or equivalent)

  • Extensive applied knowledge of construction safety principles, OSHA standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to influence and represent the owner in a highly visible role

  • Strong leadership, team-building, and program management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software; capable of producing clear reports and documentation

Pay Range

$120,000-142,000

Travel | Relocation
