HazTek is seeking a Safety Specialist with at least 5 years of experience to support safety operations on pharmaceutical construction projects in Lebanon, IN. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who has a strong field presence, working knowledge of regulatory compliance, and is looking to take the next step in their safety career.
The ideal candidate brings a hands-on mindset, solid communication skills, and proven experience in environments where LOTO, electrical safety, and Contractor Quality Management (CQM) are essential.
Enforce site safety protocols in accordance with OSHA, client standards, and pharmaceutical industry regulations
Conduct and document daily safety meetings, hazard identifications, and toolbox talks
Perform site inspections, LOTO verifications, and electrical safety checks
Monitor safe use of PPE, tools, and equipment on active construction sites
Assist in incident reporting and investigations, including root cause analysis
Ensure contractor compliance with Contractor Quality Management (CQM) procedures
Communicate safety observations and corrective actions to project teams and subcontractors
Support a culture of safety through proactive engagement with field personnel
Minimum 5 years of safety experience in construction or industrial environments
At least 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences construction
Solid knowledge of:
LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures
Electrical safety practices
Fall protection, scaffolding, and excavation safety
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required)
First Aid/CPR Certification (required)
Familiarity with CQM protocols and working within high-compliance environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to follow through on corrective actions and documentation
Experience supporting commissioning and validation phases in pharma projects
Ability to build rapport and influence field teams toward safe work practices
