Responsibilities

The Safety Manager in Cedar Rapids, IA This role is critical in supporting safety compliance and promoting a strong safety culture on site. This is a field-heavy position (90% field / 10% office) requiring a proactive leader who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all safety aspects of a commercial construction project, ensuring full OSHA compliance.

  • Conduct daily safety meetings, audits, and site inspections.

  • Complete accident reports and conduct thorough incident investigations.

  • Ensure safety and compliance across subcontractors and trade partners.

  • Provide oversight on key safety areas including Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation.

  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

  • Minumum of 5 years direct safety experience.

  • Proven experience managing safety on commercial construction projects.

  • Expertise in trenching, excavation, and electrical safety.

  • Prior experience on a data site is a strong plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices.

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and adapt to dynamic site conditions.

  • Strong professionalism and accountability are essential.
