Responsibilities

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Pharmacutical/Construction Safety Manager will work at the direction of the Associate Director, and support project team as necessary to execute and deliver the New Research Center in Foster City. The primary responsibility of the Pharmacutical/Construction Safety Manager is to support the project team as necessary to complete all project scope objectives to align with existing Environmental Health and Safety standards and regulations.
On a routine basis, the Pharmacutical/Construction Safety Manager will update and close out various project workflows assigned to EH&S in accordance with specific guidelines. This position will interface with cross functional departments, external designers, as well as construction partners and owner representative consultants. The EH&S manager should be prepared to prioritize their work based on critical work flow, new and changing information, and unanticipated items that arise during the course of the project. They will work closely with the Foster City EH&S team to provide guidance for the project to ensure alignment with our EH&S standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

• Participate in project meetings, such as Owner Architect Contractor (OAC) meetings, design meetings, etc
• Support permitting process for all related environmental permitting and waste generation coordination
during the lifecycle of the project
• Coordinate and manage daily activities during construction, start up and commissioning
• Review documents and RFI submittals
• Review Hazardous Monitoring System (HMS) Systems and programming
• Perform waste analysis and program design
• Coordianate closely with project team
• Coordinate with all owner vendors, including Design team, general contractors and all other vendors
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of Pharmacutical/Construction Safety experience 
  • Degree in a safety related field preferred
  • OSHA 510 and or 500 a plus
  • CHST or CSP preferred
  • Advance knowledge of construction safety standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required 
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
