Responsibilities

The key functions of the Senior Project Safety Adviser are to support specific project needs ensuring that best safety practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and improve the overall safety culture. 

 

  • Oversee all aspects of a complex electrical structures and construction project ensuring OSHA compliance
  • Consult with executive management on contractor safety plans and ensure implementation
  • Attend safety department and management meetings 
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, orientations and trainings 
  • Complete accident reports and conduct accident investigations
  • Ensure all personnel wear their personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Daily safety audits and inspections
  • Oversee all subcontractors and contractors
  • Inspect power tools and heavy equipment

Qualifications

  • 10+ years direct construction safety experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in a safety related field required
  • Master's degree in a safety related field preferred
  • Advanced experience with complex electrical structures required 
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) helpful 
  • First Aid CPR, AED
  • OSHA 30 construction certification 
  • NFPA 70E 
  • Owner's Representative experience required
  • Experience writing Corporate Health and Safety Plans
  • Contractor oversight 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills 

Experience required in the following areas:

  • Construction safety
  • Safety oversight of complex electrical structures
  • Contractor safety oversight 
  • Data Center
